Aquarius Casino Resort Invites Armed Forces, Civic Groups to Compete

for $1,000 Grand Prize at Bullhead City River Regatta

July 23, 2010 – Laughlin, Nev. – Aquarius Casino Resort is putting a call to arms to all branches of the armed forces, fraternal groups and social networks to create the best float for the most popular event of the summer, the fourth annual Bullhead City River Regatta held Saturday, August 14.
 
Jena Morga, Executive Director of Laughlin Tourism Commission, is challenging every branch of the military to create a unique float representing this year’s theme “Rockin’ the River,” and battle each other for the $1,000 grand prize. Community and civic groups including Kiwanis and Order of Elks are also encouraged to assemble teams and create a float for their shot at the prize money and bragging rights.
 
Prizes will be awarded in three categories including “Teams,” consisting of two to 10 participants, “Mega Teams,” with 11 to 20 participants and “Super Teams” with 21 or more participants. In each category, a $500 first prize with a trophy and a $250 second prize with a trophy will be presented to the best overall themes. In addition, a grand prize for best overall decorated float will win $1,000 and a trophy. Team tubes must be tied together and life jackets worn at all times during the float to remain eligible.
